how to avoid intense thoughts while doing meditation?

You can try the ‘deviation technic’. When small children find it hard to focus on studies, few inhabitants suggest them to try reading it aloud. It just keep their mind away from the string of words on their head! Similarly you can summons out some verses while meditation. It channel your thoughts in a different direction. The one-liners chosen must not interfere near your thoughts. They can be anything from lines from religious lines, quotes, or even things that doesn’t make any sense. The conception is to monotonously repeat the same words. So your brain doesn’t hold to interpret them over & over, so that your thoughts can be focused to a point.
(The Hindu saints in India say verses while they are on meditation. Maybe it’s a similar tactic)
I’ve written a blog entry give or take a few the flow of thoughts through the mind. It isn’t anything big http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-4fzf180_f.
But you can just read it if you stipulation. Maybe you can teach me some different things by adding some comments!
It's rugged to avoid thinking at first but the trick is not in stopping adjectives thought, it not grasping onto the thought or emotion remark it and let it be in motion. For instance Buddhist monks have be known to breakdown and cry or snigger during meditation so it's okay to have intense thoughts simply don't latch onto them
May I suggest that you do a course in meditation if you really longing to do it properly. The best course I think for meditation is the 10 sunshine Vipassana course. They are widespread presently and teach a vastly effective method qualified and developed by Gautama the buddha. You will only become confused and frustrated beside meditation if you dont find an authentic method taught by a true educationalist.
Go for a long walk instead.
